I have heard very good things about Isaia suits but currently do not own one. There is one (Yes, Andy I clicked the banner), and along with a 20% off promotion, will cost me around $550. It is listed as a Brown Herringbone with light Pink pinstripe. From the image it looks quite interesting and would certainly bring something new and potentially interesting (for better or worse) to my suit portfolio.

For those who are familiar with these suits, how do you feel about the fit? Also, what about the pattern and color of this suit? Any red flags or anything along those lines?

I love my Isaia suits.

They fit trim, although I have a somewhat athletic build. I take a 44R in a Brooks Brothers suit, but I find that I need a 46R in Isaia. I'm 6'0", 215 lbs.

The pants are low rise, flat front. That may or may not be for you.

Also, sleeves are basted, so you will need a tailor to attach the buttons, or stich buttonholes if that's what you want.

As for construction, they are fully canvassed. [I've seen it with my own two eyes, my tailor having insisted on seeing for himself after I told him what I paid.]

I highly recommend them.

Finally, the one you have selected here is ugly as hell. Brown and pink? Chose something timeless, like gray or navy. Don't do something stupid to obtain a label.

If you insist on being creative, do it with a sportcoat, not a suit.

I don't own one, but I agree with the above poster that you should seek another color. Perhaps the fact that it is brown w/ pink stripes is the reason that it is marked down so much?

Great price for an Isaia suit, but I'd have to agree with the others - not the most attractive. I do note also that you are in Florida, and I tend to think brown is not an ideal color for Floridians when it comes to suits... too earthy.

I have a light tan Gianlucia Isaia linen sportcoat. It is wonderful. Easily one of the finest garments I own.

I highly recommend the brand.

As long as the jacket is your size, a high quality tailor can customize the fit.

As far as the color and pattern, do you like it? Does it go well with your hair color and skin tone?

You can catch the pink stripes with a tie, or maybe even a shirt and it would be beautiful.

Not every suit should be navy and grey.

I think the suit is very attractive.

Appreciate the feedback, fellas. I think Ben's comments about being too earthy probably rings the most with what I couldn't quite articulate about the suit. They do have others at the same/similar price. Though I am not supposed to be shopping for a new suit, the prices caught my attention so I figured I'd ask about the oddest one of the bunch first. Here are a few others:

The charcoal and red looks very sober and business like.

The track stripe and shadow stripes are interesting. My feeling is that the high number of stripes, that close together, give off a busy/ eccentric/ mafia look.....

The best thing about STP is their generous return policy. Buy all three or four, and check them out, try them on in person. Keep one and return the rest.

I do that all the time when I buy from STP. I'll buy 10 jackets, sometimes different sizes of the same jacket. Try them all on and return all but one of them.

Your only out 15-20$ in shipping cost.

I appreciate the perspective from those of you who own these suits. I've tried Isaia suits on at NM and a few other stores but I find trying on an unaltered suit in a store is one thing, but wearing one for a full day/event is quite another, so again, thank you.

chotzo, I don't find the original suit to be unattractive per so but Mr. Ben's comments about it being too "earthy" is quite accurate. I am 6' and about 180 lbs with a moderately athletic build. I have a native Floridian tan and short brown hair so I fear that particular suit would appear, how shall I say, too "salt of the earth" for me.

I would say that 90% of my suits are worn for business or related functions. I tend to favor more subtle or traditional suits and when I want to snaz it up a bit, I do so with my shirt and tie selection.

I am going to think about this some more, but I think the charcoal and red stripe is probably my favorite overall. It strikes me as pretty traditional but the red pinstripe is something new to my wardrobe which is what I am looking for not that I am apparently, well, looking.

I have fair skin(pink shirts work really well) and red hair and I look great in earth tones. Maybe I should get the brown suit!!

That charcoal with red stripe is handsome - would be my first choice. The others are very nice as well, but I do especially like the subtle red in the stripe as it adds a little more interest to the suit.

One finds this a lot when shopping the 'bargain bins' online. I have (finally) learned to pass on something that's a great brand, my size, a great price, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut . . . . questionable whether I'd actually wear it due to style, color, etc.

Appreciate the assistance all. I ordered the Charcoal w/ Red Pinstripe size 54 (EU).

I am usually a 42R (US) but I tend to require a touch more room in the Italians and my waist measures a bit more than 36", so the 38" on these seemed like a reasonable choice.
