I have a navy Ermenegildo Zegna blazer I either got from eBay or from someone here. It's a nice blazer, lighter in weight than lots of them, so it's especially good for summer, or for wearing in hot committee rooms at the State House.

The issue is that I'm not crazy about the buttons, and I'd consider swapping them out, but before I do that I thought I'd check with people. The buttons are basically flat, with a metal loop on the back by which they are sewn to the blazer, and a relatively unobtrusive design on the front. Are these buttons somehow iconic, such that I should preserve them at all costs, or should I just go ahead and do what I want?

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Jack,
I don't think there is anything special about those buttons. You could probably change them out with whatever you like.

I've purchased some interesting blazer buttons from . Check them out.
