Evening Gentlemen,

I have an interview coming up next week and I would like your opinions on the following: I bought a suit from H&M thats dark navy blue. A member of the forums quinnk, posted a picture of himself in the suit in the "What are you wearing today" thread (Thank you quinnk :icon_smile_big:)

What shirt and tie combo would look best for an interview? I already have a white shirt and dark tie with white dots that I was thinking about...
Also, I'm assuming I should stick with black shoes and not tan as that would be a bit flashy for an interview... Suggestions/comments?

Thank you in advance, your help is greatly appreciated!

Good combo.

My fave for an interview is:
plain navy suit
pattern navy tie, all in the same shade
white shirt
black belt
black oxford's

I prefer brown shoes with a navy suit, but for an interview tend to favour the black shoe option.

I have heard that, black suits aren't good... but white dress shirt with black tie, and a possibly solid dark brown color suit would be good along with some dress shoes, and dress pants.

And preparing for an interview... hmm, before you go take a shower and brush your teeth.. don't forget to dry your hair, and find a nice clean shirt and iron if necessary.

If you don't have a clean shirt.. wash your clothes and dry them.. and hopefully you can get the washing and drying done before your interview :)

Oh, and if your going to be going for a big big interview.. like say to work for the president :p don't wear cologne or perfume :) that would be best.

For interviews it's best to dress conservatively. Once you have the job, you can dress with more flair. What you have picked out sounds just right for an interview. Good luck.

OK, last question regarding this thread :p

I tried everything on and it looks good, BUT I'm not sure if I want to go with the white shirt and instead wear a light blue shirt. I'll of course have a different tie on, but what color? Perhaps I'm just not used to wearing a white shirt with a tie, I usually only need to dress business casual.

Also, the suit is a dark gray.

Thanks again!

EDIT: Here's two pictures of the suit to get an idea about the color:

EDIT2: Damn, too much lighting in those two. Lets try this again....

I would say all of your color combinations sound great, but I probably wouldn't wear a super-slim H&M suit to a job interview. It can, however, depend on what industry you work in. I like a slimmer-than-normal suit as much as the next person, but it's best to keep it conservative for a job interview.

My main reason for a slim suit is well, because I'm a very slim guy and not too tall  I've tried a regular cut, but I was almost swimming in it....

Not to mention, I didn't have enough time to search for a suit properly...
