What do you think are the iconic pieces of clothing? (Perhaps this should be in the trad forum, but I wasn't thinking only of trad clothing.) I'll start with a few:

Arnys Forestiere corduroy jacket
Brooks Brothers ocbd
Bill's khakis (althought they are a relatively new brand)
Avon Celli polo shirt

Others?

Are you asking for Name brands that people wear or the style of clothing that remains timeless.

Brands have lasted. Ralph lauren polo shirts, Armani suits, Alden shoes but to me I look at the item itself, the one piece or pieces or clothing that will always be around. The classic Button down collared shirt, the polo shirt whether it is polo or lacoste, etc.. Blue pinstripe suit or gray pinstripe.. wingtip brogues, classic captoes...etc.

looks at my Orthodox icons on the wall.
With saints basic browns seem in, though John the Baptist has a green, camelhair cloak.
Christ pentacular goes for Miami white and gold, while bishops all have white with black crosses on purple robes.

ToryBoy is so correct on that Burberry (Egyptian cotton). I would add a nicely done natural shoulder Harris Tweed sportcoat, black calfskin captoe shoes, blue blazer in true navy, and a real to the last detail brown horsehide or goatskin A-1 Army Air Forces jacket, and a true navy double breasted natural shoulder suit, to name a few.

The tie.

I don't care how often the modern sacks of garbage roll around on television talk shows without ties, or if Mr. Amedinajihad doesn't wear one, a man without a tie while on the job looks utterly weak and unfinished. The tie will never go away while the button down persists.

It also helps balance the visual presentation of an outfit.

Off the top of my head, in no particular order:

Red Wing hunting boots, pre-1970.
Cowboy boots by Justin, Tony Lama.
Rayban wayfarer sunglasses
Persol Sunglasses (not just the ones McQueen wore in Thomas Crowne)
Desert boots.
Chelsea boots.
the black turtleneck sweater
web belts
army fatigue pants (I'm partial to OG-107's)
the safari jacket (particularly the 1952 British military one)
Longwings (the Florsheim Imperial would be iconic)
the black leather motorcycle jacket
the cowboy hat
the fedora (think Bogie)
the porkpie hat (think Sinatra)
and don't get me started on iconic wristwatches...
