Just curious....who wears an undershirt under their dress shirt? I used to, but lately have found it more comfortable to go sans-undershirt, except when wearing a white dress shirt.

I always wear one. Every shirt I own except for polo shirts gets an undershirt, i'm just not comfortable without one, I think it's a result of the military.

You're going to ruin those nice dress shirts sooner rather than later if you go sans-undershirt. Just look at what happens to the armpits of your undershirts... yellow within a month or two.

I always wear one under a dress shirt, never under a polo or golf shirt. There may be a few occasions wheh don't wear one under an open-collared, long-sleeved shirt during the year...but that's rare.

Freezing here today too. It's a balmy 18 degrees right now...even worse tomorrow. The dog knew to make haste on his walk today.

I don't wear under shirts, and I've never experienced discoloring from sweat, although I find it plausible if one sweat a lot.

I never did before my military service. Since then I always wear an undershirt (except with fine gauge polo shirts that tends to "stick" to the undershirt).

I will not spend much money on an undershirt, but I've recently become somewhat obsessed with finding the best possible undershirt at the lowest possible price.

Same for me, except I've started buying Brooks Brothers underwear. It seems to hold up much better than the Kmart.

The armpits of my shirts look just like the rest of the shirt! Maybe I'm lucky in that I don't sweat unless in the midst of extreme physical output (to the point that I don't wear underarm deodorant or antiperspirant). I think those are what make the fabric of your underarm discolour.

Personally, I would get much too hot with an undershirt on most days, and on those rare days I know I'm going to be cold I either wear a thicker shirt or put on a sweater…

Never wear undershirts. I don't like how they feel, especially when the shirt and undershirt experience static cling. BTW, it is in the 80's here in southern California today; way too hot for me, and certainly too hot for an undershirt.

Sometimes when layering, or under a wool shirt or sweater, I will wear a colored tee or henley.

I, and presumably the others who made similar claims, don't sweat to that extent where it discolours the arm pits of our shirts.

At the moment my favorite is Jockey Classic. Not expensive, but not the cheapest at $16.50 3-pack. Fits me well, seems to hold its shape better, shrink less than others I've tried (so far).
