Oh NO! You mean to say that one day my myriad contributions here might be swept into the dustbin of history?

Just to prevent that from happening, and as I'm sure they've done with all of Winston Churchill's papers, I, like, I would bet, many on this board store just your comments to a separate backup (I have a hard drive solely dedicated to your comments that I also synch to cloud storage in case my Shaver-drive becomes corrupted).

While my Dad did wear ties, being of a generation, personality and philosophy where he limited his interaction with his children (to be blunt, he didn't have the patience for it), my Mom did her best to teach me when I finally put my foot down around the age of seven (I'm guessing) and said I won't wear the clip-on tie (yes, the one) anymore for family weddings, funerals and the once-a-year school picture - it was embarrassing to be "outed" for wearing a clip-on. Whatever hackneyed method she concocted got me through to my first days at a real post-college job where I immediately realized my tie knot was a mess (along with my entire sad, small work wardrobe).

At that point, I bought a book (not "Dressing the Man," but some small paper back - long lost and the title forgotten - that had those crazy six panel drawings that showed me how to tie a tie). After much trial and error and asking a few people at work, once I got more comfortable there, I mastered the half windsor, which I stayed with for years until I really got into clothes and started experimenting with other styles.
