Hello,

I apologize if this topic has been discussed before but I can't get the search function to work on my computer. Could someone please tell me how much can shirt sleeves be shortened? The tailors usually take the cuffs off and then resew them after cutting the sleeves shorter. But I think this must be within a tiny range b/c otherwise the button on the sleeve would look awkwardly close to the cuff.

Also, I have skinny wrists so most off the rack shirts are too roomy for me on the wrists. Is there anything a tailor could do to shorten the distance between the two pairs of buttonholes (for French cuff shirts)? This is similar to the idea of moving the button on a barrel cuff shirt sleeve. But this seems impossible for French cuff shirts since the tailor would have to somehow "move" buttonholes.

Thanks!

Vic
