How many of you on this forum have ever at some point worn clip on suspenders? I am just curious as to how many of you have ever been guilty of this classic faux pas? And I would hope that you have since corrected this error.

Never, and I mentally gasp and shy away from those I see wearing clip ons AND a belt. With jeans. But I can't be too haughty, for we all have made similiar or worse fox paws:icon_smile:

In high school (we're talking a galaxy far, far way called the 1970s here), I was known to wear rainbow-striped or red elastic clip-on braces (the latter from LL Bean) with jeans, over a plaid flannel shirt worn with sleeves rolled up over a white cotton thermal longsleeved undershirt.

A denim jacket or surplus-store-bought M65 field jacket topped the outfit. High-topped Chuck Taylors or suede Wallabees were the preferred footwear. What a decade.

This was my only brush with clip-on suspenders. Except for the time that I was kidnapped by "Up with People!" But that's another post for another day.

Only once, when I was young, but I didn't inhale, and I didn't like it, and never tried it again.

In all seriousness, no. I was lucky enough to find good advice on the subject when I first became interested in suspenders.

Numerous convictions in the past, and another case coming up next week with my fishing waders being taken into consideration. I am hoping to throw myself on the mercy of the court when the extenuating circumstances are revealed.

I have used them on stage. If they are not going to be seen and the pants haven't any buttons I've worn them. Nothing like being in a play and tugging your pants back into place.

Never. When I was in high school in the late '80s, I made my mom sew brace buttons on the inside of my Gap khakis so I could wear my red/blue and blue/red braces to school with cool ties. I think I'm too tall now for braces (6'4") so I only wear them with dinner jackets where you can't see them elongate me.

I have, but not for many years...and certainly I'd rather wear clip-ons than these nonsensical items which aren't quite sure what they want to be:crazy:
