While on my search for some boat shoes, I wound up purchasing AE Kirkwoods instead.

How do I care for these?

I originally was going to soak and shrink them like boat shoes, but they seem a bit too nice for that sort of treatment.

There is a small stain on them that doesn't bother me, but I'd like to hear how to get rid of it without hurting the leather anyway.

Yeah, boat shoes are meant to just weather gracefully.

Besides, I believe it’s made using chromexcel leather so best thing to do is just wear and if soiled, clean with a damp cloth. Chromexcel is naturally oily given the tanning process and polish would only disfigure it.

Not sure what yours are made out of, but I have always treated my boat shoes (and Bean Boots) with some Boot Guard right out of the box. This not only improves water resistance, but helps them to break in sooner.

Allen Edmonds always lists the recommended care products for each shoe on their website. If it’s not clear, they have a Question & Answer section for each shoe as well.

While true, Allen Edmonds would never admit that boat shoes should be soaked in water and dried in the sun.

I'll believe their suggestions for all my dress shoes, but they seem to want casual shoes placed on a pedestal as well.

Without looking at the website, I'm going to guess that they suggest using their Leather Lotion for this CXL leather.
I prefer Lexol NF (Lexol conditioner that contains some Neatsfoot oil) for CXL.

A perfect example of what might happen when one allows their Beefroll Penny Loafers to get too familiar with their Boat Shoes! Seriously, put that small stain out of your mind...as you wear them, you will incur far worse. :teacha:
