I became aware of this online tailor from a advertisement on this website. I checked them out and they appear to be a retailer that I would like to try out. Anyone have any reviews on their product quality, fit issues and shipping? Im interested in their custom made blazers, vests, pants and shirts. Thank you...

I ordered a custom tuxedo and confirmed the measurements over email. The suit arrived (from China??) and was ridiculously too large, to the point it could not be altered easily. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, the quality was very poor. Very cheap, thin material and nowhere near expectations for the price.

Hockerty refused to refund and instead offered to send me another suit, completely avoiding the quality issue despite numerous emails back and forth. Eventually I had no choice but to ask my credit card company to withhold payment and investigate along with contacting the Swiss ombudsman (where hockerty are based)

Despite numerous emails with Jonathan Blasco from hockerty, he previously reported this truthful review as not being from someone with a genuine order, hence this repost. Further demonstration of their disgraceful business practices; reporting what they know to be valid reviews. Interesting that any positive reviews are very, very brief...I wonder if they're at all genuine. Apparently they had a previous brand name which was burned due to poor reviews.

The Swiss ombudsman (where Hockerty are based), after review and investigation agreed hockerty were at fault. After arbitration with my credit card company a refund was finally provided. A lot of work on my part to get my money back from a disgraceful business.

Avoid these cheap, nasty suits and disgraceful company with terrible customer service.

I have no experience with Hockerty, but I have two general comments: First, if you want to invest in bespoke or custom clothing, please invest in a live tailor and not in mail-order clothes. There really is no substitute for a competent chap with a tape measure taking down your numbers and assessing your body shape and individual features. Second, clothes made in China are to be generally avoided, although there may be some exceptions. Most companies have their clothing products outsourced to that country to lower their costs as much as possible, and that means cheap, ill-paid labour, poor cloth and shoddy workmanship. You'll contribute to their profit, and receive badly-made clothes with inferior material in return.

The Chinese make many things very well (computers, for instance), but clothes are not currently in that category. That may change if these businesses are willing to pay more to good craftsmen and tailors.

I just received a suit from them. The customer service is horrible. They just keep telling you that it looks like you should be able to fix it with your tailor and then they blame you. The suit jacket is 2 inches too short. There is no way to fix that. It's been 6 emails back and forth.
For comparison, I usually get suits from Indochino, more than 10 times already, and the fit can be off a drop here or there but they take it in. No harassing emails.
The fabric I chose was a stretch fabric. Big mistake. The fabric itself is so shiny and glittery under the light. I actually sent them a picture of the sample the sent me of that fabric against the suit to show them it's not the same. I should have ordered wool. I have gotten performance blends that were actually nice though.

LOL, I want to say a mathematician's QED (Quod Erat Demonstrandum) to @Dov's post above -- it is a fine example, a proof almost, of the points I was making in my post directly above his! Although two years and a few days later...

The trouble is that too many folks believe price is the main thing. The cheaper a garment, and the greater the bargain seemingly might be, the more eager they are to possess it. This is very short-sighted. Cheap suits are very costly in the long run, far more than the cost of one well-made suit. They are poorly designed and made, and often fall apart with any sort of consistent use. One fine suit or pair of shoes that will last you decades with proper care and repairs should be worth far more to you than ten cheap ones, each of which may have been bought to replace the previous one during the same period. A related point is that well-made clothing or footwear takes on a character and patina with time and good consistent care that is, for my money, unrivalled by anything made shabbily with inferior materials.

Basta. End of sermon/diatribe/rant.
