I am considering a navy blue Hickey Freeman suit in super 130 wool.
I realize this brand has had a roller coaster history of ownership and quality in the past several years.

Does anyone have recent experience with Hickey Freeman suits that they can share?

I bought a MTM suit made by HF last fall at Nordstrom. It is of high quality and well made. But it was made in Canada not in the U.S. that surprised me a bit. I'd suggest going with Divij Bespoke instead if he comes by your town.. A little cheaper and much better attention to detail.

Many HF Suits/Sport Coats are made in Canada since Samuesohn purchased them. In speaking with HF reps in US they assured me that the Canadian made use the exact specs of the US made. Samuelsohn has typically been on par with HF from a quality and workmanship standpoint.

Not a suit, but I have a Hickey Freeman navy blazer somewhere back there in my closet. I purchased it several years ago from Sierra Trading Post, back when they carried such items. It got ALOT of wear and was one of my signature pieces. The elbow on the right sleeve developed a serious shine due to my habit of resting one elbow on my desk, so I put it away hoping to restore it sometime in the future.

I’ll have to check the label as I don’t recall offhand where it was made. My one complaint was that it was missing swelled edges on the lapels which I believe is a hallmark of blazers. In fact, they don’t even have top stitching.

I noticed the quality of the suit was the same as the U.S.-made ones I have from previous MTM orders, but it was disappointing nonetheless to see HF MTM is no longer made in Rochester, NY.

If it came from STP it was not a top quality HF product. Half canvas and no hand tailoring!
