The search engine is your friend.
Oh, medwards, please. Why would I want to build on somebody else's handiwork when I can bask in the glory of a thread that is entirely my own creation?

I mean, what would AK say if he was asked to take another artisan's shirt and just add on to it for his own purposes? Food for thought, no doubt!

Kind Regards,

Chase

I didn't find AAAC. It found me.

HELP! Now I'm being held prisoner in Andy's basement. He sends down fabric, needles & thread ... and every third Sunday some peanut butter and water.

One would think that how someone found AAAC would not have changed over the past two years, but perhaps I am wrong. ;) Certainly we have new members who haven't participated in this conversation in the past and we are anxious to hear their voices. But the solution in this as in so many cases is to build on these past discussions rather than to replay them time and time again. The search engine is your friend.
Would it be better to bump the old thread? Why? I'd guess a new thread would be more likely to attract new respondents than one from two years ago. Then we'd have to endure the complaints about necroposting.

Google to find about suits and proper sleeve lengths, if I remember right.

Searching for information about some obscure dress practice, the which I have forgotten, lo these 100+ posts hence. Found it fascinating and even marginally helpful. Hope to continue contributing in a helpful fashion myself, if I can keep effectively biting my tongue:icon_smile_wink:
Likewise. I don't recall the exact question, but it was something exacting as well.

Found AAAC a while ago, accidentally when looking for a blazer online. Then when trying to look for something like this but based in the UK, could not find anything that was serious of men's clothing.

Hence, joing AAAC.

I saw a wonderful pair of shoes on e-bay, burgundy brogue's made by Alan Mcafee. In my ignorance I googled the name and was led to this site.

The shoes are stunning and I got them for £11.50.

I found AAAC via Google, days before an office Christmas party, three years ago.

I remember the day well. I was berated heavily for an ill-chosen item of footwear. And rightly so. I really enjoyed the polite yet unforgiving criticism that I received. Very cleansing.

And it has been an essential and immensely enjoyable learning learning experience since then.

And it continues to this very day...

I was reading an article in GQ about the "world's best" dress shirts...they mentioned Borrelli, Turnbull & Asser, Lorenzini, and Charvet. My folks were over in Capri and they called and asked if I would like anything, so I googled the shirts, wound up with a Borrelli shirt and tie, and a new mistress. She's a tough one to stay away from, I'll tell ya!

I was interested in exerting more effort in trying to dress like a grown-up and several of my Google-fu moves referred me here. So I registered. Some of you guys are way more into it than I will ever be, but it's all good.:thumbs-up:
