Other than the disreputable pile of shoes, it does not look like an outlandishly large collection.

In my early 60's I lost 100 pds and went crazy buying clothes more like my age. Brooks, Nordstrom and CT shirts that still fit for $16-18 at consignment stores.. Suits and jackets were 38/38-S, not longer fit. too bad I grabbed 7-8 jackets. Now I boxes ready for my Niece's Son, too bad he is about 35 lbs lighter than me, same waist and height. about 16.

What to do when you out grow your wardrobe? The basement, office, large Tupperware style containers under the bed(s).

But, to be fair, all of my shoes have trees and all of the clothing, (where appropriate) is hanging.
I realize that this is a first world problem though!

Honestly looks fairly small. I would have difficulty fitting my clothing into that wardrobe.

The point I was making in my last post was that it’s not a particularly large collection, but it’s really very sad. I had never heard of that website but it appears to be created by and for urban explorers who document abandoned houses and buildings. This collection of battered shoes is caked in dust (not to mention the floor.). This is in an abandoned home.

This prompted a thought. It probably already exists somewhere on Ask Andy, but it would be fun to have photos of our own closets, etc. Of course, such an idea is probably too personal for many.

Portable, rolling clothes racks are very useful when the closets are filled. By the way, hang your clothes carefully on good hangars and leave space between your clothes.

And maybe if you want, put an air freshener in the closet.

I absolutely hate clutter and looking at that photo brings shivers down my spine. Look at the dust balls underneath too. My wife demands that I remove something when I get something new. That seems to help.
