That is what I thought. Now I know for a fact that the correct pronunciation of Freda is /free'duh/ and not /fray'duh/.

How strange. My wife was reading a book to my son tonight and the duck in the story was named Freda. We both thought it was spelled Freida.

Like so many other names (both male and female) out there, Freda has a few different spellings. F-R-E-D-A, F-R-I-D-A, F-R-E-I-D-A and a few others.

I understand that. I just thought it was funny that the same day my wife and I saw the name Freda in our son's book, I saw the name again posted here. I have only seen it spelled Freida, and thought it was odd to see it spelled Freda twice in one day.
