Will this work? I have a very nice pair of gray business shoes. I want to polish them with black polish. I don't care if the black makes the gray darker. What do you think? Thanks.

It should work just fine. I actually use a cost of black polish over the top of other colors like burgundy, brown, and sometimes even tan to achieve a deeper tone.

It will improve their appearance. I occasionally use black polish on brown shoes if the brown leather has no variation in colour.

Maybe a few times but I don't know if I'd make a habit out of it. I'd do a neutral most of the time and maybe black every now and then.
