Welcome aboard barnstormer!

I have not personally seen or tried on a pair of the Grant Stone LHW's but I do like the shape of the last.

I consider myself a Long-Wing aficionado. I own seven or eight pairs of Florsheim Imperials or Royal Imperials depending on their date of manufacture. The caveat here is that my Florsheims are vintage,....(All Made in the USA.)

I purchased a "New" (Made in India) pair of Florsheim Kenmoor's. I was quite disappointed with the quality of the leather as well as the overall fit and finish. Then I threw good money after bad and purchased another pair, I was just as disappointed. I got rid of both pairs as they are a faint reflection of the USA made versions.

If I were dead set on purchasing a brand new pair and it was narrowed down to Florsheim or Grant Stone, I would purchase the Grant Stone shoes.

Otherwise I would seriously look into a New Old Stock or nearly new pair of USA manufactured Imperial or Royal Imperials.

David from Seattle is a knowledgeable Long Wing enthusiast who has a web site called "Vcleat." David also has "David's watch List" where you can put in your size and he shows examples that are currently available on EBay.

(My stable is full but I just saw some excellent condition shell cordovan vintage Florsheim Imperials for under $300.- which is an excellent value.)

This site is a wealth of information:

Good luck in your quest.
