Anyone here ever heard of The Grandon Boot ?
There's a pair in a local thrift shop which look to be Northampton made but I can't find anything online other than a brief mention on some "Police Forum".
And they do look like they could be police issue.
Heavy leather soled black boots.

From the soles and the code inside, I'm thinking they might be made by Loake.
What I judge to be the last number is 1564.

My father was in the British transport police and all his boots when he could afford them were Grendon’s jodhpurs boots with a strap around the ankle, that was in the 60s, 70s and 80s, I joined the West Midlands police in 87 and my dad gave me his last pair of boots following his retirement. After they had worn out I managed to remember the address in Northampton and ordered myself a pair. On the arrival of the new boots I found they had gone from a leather sole to a composite sole and they were never the say. I later tried to purchase another pair but my cheque was returned and I assumed they had gone out of business. An address of green street green seems to stick in my mind.
