I can see that you live in the Pacific Northwest. I don’t know what the winters are like there, but the Barbour worn with layers might be a good option. I wear my Barbour with a liner and it can carry me through as long as the temps don’t dip below 30. Unfortunately where it comes up short is when going against the wind.

unfortunately, most technical jackets, like those you’ve mentioned above, are branded. No getting around it. I have a Canada Goose jacket but the patch is black, so it’s there, but I don’t look like I just stepped off the RRS Discovery.

I have an old Carhart work coat (hooded) that is comfortably warm and, I don't think, it has any exterior labels. I wore the coat when we lived in NW Indiana and can recall wearing it to Chicago on a number of occasions. ;)

With the OP being in Seattle, I'd recommend Filson over Barbour. I have had the Filson "Cover Cloth Mile Marker" coat for years and it's always served me well. The zip-in liner adds quite a bit of warmth and it's probably sufficient for Seattle winters (wet but not frigid). I've had a Barbour Bedale and a Beaufort and ended up parting ways with both of them because I liked my Filson so much more (I will say that Filson's prices have gone up quite a bit over the past few years and it's easier to find discounted Barbours, but I think I'd still rather have the Filson).
