good sneakers?

Gentlemen:

Forgive if this issue is not one of men's fashion. However, I feel that the users of this forum can address it as well as or better than any other resource.

Where can I purchase fine sneakers, that cost about $150-200, that look elegant and will last many years?

I ask because I know wear to purchase fine shoes, made from elegant leathers by skilled craftsmen in America, Britain, or Italy; as I know wear to purchase cheap sneakers, made in China from synthetic materials and having bright colors and logos all around.

I want sneakers, and I can't afford cheap. I live in New York City. Any ideas? Thanks.
