Good fashion for low prices, suggestions?

I am a poor college student in NYC, and although I have a full-time jovb (I attend classes in the evening), I would like to be able to afford nicer clothes. My lawyer father is most disdainful of my desire to wear nice clothing, but I see nothing wrong with it.

That being said, does anybody have any suggestions as to what looks good, and is good, that I could buy? Keep in mind my budget is *cheap* , so...yea
