As life is returning to normal I was very pleased to attend a small business group event with our local congressman. Folks 40s - 60s age demographic, everyone had a jacket or suit on, many ties, women in dress heels and business suits. Incredibly refreshing after watching most people out and about in what I can only describe as pajamas.

I have already returned to my normal attire which is materially better than what our company’s dress code allows.

I always dressed better than the norm where I worked, which was a professional setting. Yet, I was always the only guy in a tie or jacket. So, around here the casualization of wardrobe has been in full effect for some time. However, the Congress critters seem to dress up. :D

Ask Andy regulars pay more attention to their appearance than the world in general.
I am in the neck tie business. For years before "Covid" and "Work from Home" the "Dress Down Code"
signaled a neck tie decline.
Hopefully things will regain normalcy by summer's end.
People will wear shoes, shirts, trousers, sweaters. I do not think the tie business will return to close what it was.
In the time of Louis 14th men wore high heel shoes.

I wear suits and ties regularly- at least once a week, sometimes 3-4 times per week. That hasn't changed all that much during Covid for me, although I realize I'm probably a bit out of the mainstream.

I've started to see more situations where I'm no longer the only one in a jacket and tie. I think it's coming back, albeit slowly.

I do notice that people on the street really seem to appreciate seeing me dressed in a suit and tie-- I get positive comments all the time. I don't think it's so much the suit and tie itself, as the whole concept of a man putting effort into his appearance that seems to stand out.

I've noticed that generally, the ladies I interact with, whether in person or digitally, have maintained the same standards of dress that they always have. But for some reason, most men have decided this is an opportunity to just give up.
