Hello All,

I have several sets of older suspenders on which the sides have begun to fray and have long strands of fine material hanging from them. Trimming off the strands only leads to more fraying in the same areas.

Very disappointing as all of them are limited editions from what I thought was a high-end manufacturer.

Regardless, does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Are they Trafalgar brand limited editions? If so, I have them too, but have not experienced the problem likely due to very infrequent wear at this point. If those are what you have, I quite sure they're rayon, which unfortunately is a rather delicate fabric, and one which can become more brittle over time as it's made from cellulose, a natural fiber which breaks down, and I'd think more so after being processed.

I hope someone has a better answer, but I suspect what you're experiencing is just normal wear and tear over time.
