I've got a number of older LL Bean oxfords that are starting to fray a bit at the collar. I realize that frayed collars are improper in many settings, i.e. courtrooms, Wall Street. But on weekends, around town, would you consider them totally unacceptable, or simply frugally Trad?
I have heard of a time when BB would turn collars for a small fee, but with labor costs, particularly here in Switzerland, it's cheaper to pitch the shirt and order another.
"What I don’t like about you, Sefton, is, you come to the Coll. with your stick-up collars an’ patent-leather boots, an’ you think you can teach us something about bullying." Stalky & Co.
