The old one was Eau Sauvage. The new one is just Sauvage. No Savage...yet.
I started reading "Spare" by Prince Harry. He wrote that his father was always taking long sniffs at things and perhaps it was because it was hard to smell anything over his, Charles', personal scent, Eau Sauvage, that he would slather on his cheeks, neck, and shirt.

It was also the scent for ALL in the OPHB (or OPH if you prefer). That book was targeting people younger than I. Most guys wore English Leather or Jade East. (yuck). I wore Acqua di Selva or St. John's Lime.

For the gorgeous ladies at the club I'd rather spray it on my neck. ;)

Original Preppy Handbook. 🤪. Despite being an obvious parody, it got the details of the clothing worn at the time pretty accurately.
Duh. I have the book, but I will blame my self-diagnosed ADHD for not remembering both the acronyms for the book and the preferred cologne. 😁 I see now on page 144 under Men's Accessories. "Eau Sauvage. The his-and-hers cologne favored by Preps."

Do you guys like Aramis?
Personally, no. I find it to be very strong and old-school. It's also very common; i.e. everyone has an uncle or in-law who wears it. I'm 33. I tend to go for lighter fresher scents. But that's just me; I'm not here to discourage anyone from wearing what they like.
