I picked up a Daniel Cremieux flat cap at Dillards for 24 bucks on a whim a few weeks ago and i love it. Ive never been a ball cap guy, but this style looks good on me. I want to buy more, what brands should i look at that are the real deal in this style? I have poked around a bit and i can tell you that I dont want anything that has any logos anywhere on the hat.

O'Connell's has a good assortment of the real deal including linen for summer, waxed cotton for rain, and tweed for being out on a cold day. They are having their winter sale right now!

I have two wax cotton caps, one by Barbour and one by a generic maker. (They have served me well in the Pacific Northwest rain.)

A couple of other flat caps that I have purchased from this firm:

Another PNW supplier is John Helmer. Three generation haberdasher with a great selection of everything menswear in the same location in Portland for what must be a hundred+ years. If I want to shop OTR, Helmer is my go-to.

Good catch Sarg,...

I just purchased a new navy v-neck Alan Paine sweater from John himself last week.

How could I have forgotten to mention that John Helmer is also a hat specialist?

As it turns out, John Helmer called me this evening to tell me that a brown tweed driving cap that I'd wanted for a long time finally arrived. That's customer service--and yes, I bought it.

Just a suggestion, but might also look on Etsy as there are(were) a few people who would make these caps for you (and some you can supply your own material if you like). I had a tweed odd jacket made a year or so ago and got a length of extra material from the maker and sent that to a maker on etsy for a matching flat cap.....I was very happy with the outcome.
