Last week I slipped and fell on the sidewalk due to the the brass nails in my heel which had flattened and gotten shiney. I was wearing a Brooks Bros. Peal shoe made by Crockett & Jones.

Two years ago I slipped and fell in an Alfred Sargent shoe with brass nails in the heel.

My shoe repairman says that my fall was caused by the brass nails, and that he has seen this in other cases. I am having my English heel replaced with a full rubber one.

Have other members experienced this problem? Is this a problem caused by brass nails and not found with iron nails?

Thanks.
