Hello fellow Tradlites,
This is my first post. I'd like to lead it off with a question:

Recently ordered a partially lined tweed sport coat.
I'm usually not one for incompleteness, but the price was good, and the one fully lined coat the company currently has in my size is currently out of stock.

While I'm sure most replies will say that its a matter of taste, there is, nonetheless, a code to most things sartorial. So, what do you guys think - all or nothing? Or is partial acceptable?

Best,
CL

It takes more work to "finish" the seams and lining edges on a partially lined jacket. On a lined jacket they're just covered with lining and the lining is tack-stitched along the bottom hem and sewn at the vent. (a generalization)

I'm looking forward to the arrival of the coat.
New fall tweed is always a fine occasion
This will be my first coat that isn't fully lined. i suppose its always been an unconscious habit of mine to go for the fully lined sort.

Partially lined is a good way to keep cooler, though I'm not sure I understand its use on tweed and flannel (though I own a flannel suit with partial lining) since those are cold weather fabrics anyway. Anyone know?
