I have an unusual query that I need help resolving. Let me explain:

I have a disabled individual who likes to look good. Per his disability, wearing jeans has become too difficult. Particularly with unbuckling the belt, unbuttoning, and unzipping the fly has it become too tedious. This is especially evident when needing to use the restroom as well as making dressing and undressing a chore-- all of which requires the aid of another person. The solution? Elastic waist jeans. Elastic waist jeans would allow him to pull his jeans right up and down as needed.

So we began searching for some good looking elastic waist jeans, but we ran into one problem: he has a size 28" waist. We could only find 30" waist jeans.

So I've decided to try to crowd source this issue. Can you help us help this individual locate some good looking elastic waist jeans in 28" waist? Surely we can come up with something!

Good morning. Unfortunately I don't have an answer to your question. However my advice to get more members to read your thread is to amend the title to include something saying it is for a disability. For whatever reason we often get internet trolls here asking questions that don't always equate with dressing well. Your title combined with the fact that you are a new member could easily cause many members to not read your question, assuming it was not serious. I almost did as well. Still I don't know if you get your question answered but at least you get an honest look.

My observation is that size 28 waist pants are generally sold as "boys" rather than "mens" items with the exception of those from certain fashion brands. So, it might help to search for "boys" jeans as well, paying attention to ensure that the inseam and rise are sufficient.

I understand what you're looking for. In your internet searches, I'd probably take out "jeans" because these will be more like "denim pants". I also wouldn't rule out ordering a women's pant (there will be more options for this type of pant in the women's market) to see how it fits - if it's bad, return it - if it's ok, then maybe minor alterations could make it acceptable.

I know my wife has or has had some. You might look at jeans marketed to ladies.

No - Women's are out the window.

Kids sizes are unlikely. We looked into that previously. He has a man's frame. Wears a 30'' to 32'' length. So prob no kids.

What we need is either men's or custom made.

Inseams for boy's jeans in size 16 and 18 typically exceed 30". For example, here's the Lee size chart:

The men's sizes begin after where the boy's end.

I completely understand an adult not wanting to wear "boy's" jeans.
