How is the quality of their clothes? compare to who?
I think it's pretty decent. Their silk scarves, squares & ties are really lovely. I'm definitely very fond of those scarves in particular. Gloves are very good too. Their small leather accessories vary from acceptably good to really nice. Braces are good. Shirts have improved a bit over the past couple of years and are decent, esp. at sale prices. They're probably Ede's weakest point overall, to me, but the price is good. Suits are I think well-priced. MTM is by Wensum, so partly made overseas (Mauritius IIRC) and then finished up in the UK and they're very good at refining the initial fit at that stage. I think it's competitively priced, esp. during their sales and this is Ede's "value sweet spot" to me. Bespoke is good quality as far as I can tell (I lack the expertise to understand the minutiae of tailoring but the very few of them I have look and feel good to me and wear well). Shoes I don't know well; I think they're generally Cheaneys made to a good standard, but don't own any pairs.

In short, I like Ede. :)

I found a nice pair of salt-and-pepper trousers in the last Ede & Ravenscroft summer sale.

The last time i investigated (years ago) E&R shirts were made near Cambridge.

They also stock Edward Green shoes.

Happened to buy a few fun things from Ede today. Christmas presents for a couple of people, plus I couldn't resist a silk/cashmere scarf for myself...

The waistcoat above is bespoke from Ede, which I also picked up today, and was made up exactly how I wanted it. More pics...

(I have some of the flannel fabric left over if anyone wants it; and for very little. See the sales forum for details.)

Thank you!

No, it's an odd waistcoat. I was going to get a pair of trousers made up from this fabric, but in the end opted for a waistcoat. Should be relatively easy to mix-and-match with for business casual sort of outfits (think today's clothes with a tie and nice jacket) or maybe even as an odd waistcoat under a different suit.

Talking of waistcoats, I saw some FABULOUS waistcoats that were made up for another client. Beautiful silks and other fabrics, unique buttons and lovely designs. Inspirational stuff, truly.

The Cambridge store now has GJ Cleverley RTW shoes also. I was in the Cambridge store last month and they had a large selection.

I picked up a nice shirt as well.

Man, I wish they had a serious e-commerce site, instead of the glorified brochure site they have now.
I was priveleged to be invited to attend one of their (E&R's) champagne receptions and dinners followed by an operatic recital at Kings College Cambridge last night ( E&R sponsor a number of young singers at the Kirov Opera in St Petersburg) and over dinner I gathered they hope to have an e-tailing online store up and running in the spring. So watch that space.
Incidently it was delightful to see so many well dressed people in such a superb setting. The acoustics were wonderful and I fell in love with one of the sopranos. Her indoors was kicking me under the table as I was starting to dribble...

I was invited to one of these events but sadly can't make it. Don't make me envious...
