Dremel used to make a shoe buffer, I believe it was call model 795/796 - fantastic piece of equipment. My father was informed by Dremel that they stopped production in 1989. Does anyone know where these can be found in new condition these days? How about a buffer of comparable quality (I've seen the Brookstone/Sharper Image type copies; they don't come close)?

They have a fairly high-end one in the locker room at my gym. They're fine for touching up your toes, but I've never thought much of them for actually shining the whole shoe. Google electric shoe shine for a variety of similar ones in the $100-$200 range. I wouldn't bother with battery-powered ones. I had one once as a gift and it was crap.
