What is your practice when sitting down while wearing a double-breasted jacket: do you unbutton it, or leave it buttoned?
There is a difference between walking around with your double-breasted suit unbuttoned an unbuttoning it to sit down.Buttoned
I saw some people at lunch on Sunday after church, one of the young men had a nice looking double breasted suit on, standing in the lobby, un-buttoned.
I wanted to cry out, button your coat for crying out loud.
Looks bad. And why swaddle yourself in that much fabric if you're only going to wear it like a SB?What's really that wrong with it?
Buttoned. If you have to unbutton it, it's not fitted correctly.
This is kind of ridiculous IMO. If I like my DB to fit more snugly than you do to the point that it is tight sitting but looks great standing then it is fitted "incorrectly"? This seems a bit closed minded with regards to personal preference, no? I guess other that I did not realize there was one way to fit things properly.Buttoned definitely. As said earlier, if it is uncomfortable to sit down with it buttoned, the jacket has not been fitted properly.
alaric
That's exactly where I stand. Unbuttoning your DB when sitting down has nothing to do with proper fit, it's merely a personal preference. This is kind of ridiculous IMO.
