This suggests that Flanderian is not a logician - because if he were he would have posted that purple suede abomination in the "Japanese shoe" thread. Logically, the assertion that the world's best shoes are made in Japan is equivalent to the assertion that shoes not made in Japan are not the world's best. And these shoes are clearly evidence for the latter assertion.
