I've read on this forum that shoe color and belt color do not need to match perfectly. Does the combination in the photos below come close enough?

That is by all means close enough. If you have legs, the shoes and belt will be quite a distance apart, and nobody will see a difference.

It's plenty close enough. And you can never have too many belts in shades of brown.

I am a bit more in favor of an exact match if possible but typically that is only if you have the same manufacturer of the shoe and the belt. Having said that, an exact match often is not possible nor practical so just get it close. Or wear braces/side tabs and forego the belt.

If the shoe has a matching belt from the same mfg I buy it and wear it.
