If so, I've just encountered this very enjoyable blog article. It reminded me that the film mentioned in it, Fairy Tale, a True Story, is one we gave to our granddaughters when they were young. They loved it! But it's truly a fine film of the genre, both entertaining and interesting for many adults as well as children. Charming, beautiful, and quite magical in it's cinematography and production design, with a solid script and lovely performances. It's a little gem, if this sort of thing interests.

Sadly, my 9-year-old daughter would scoff if I gave that to her. She despises fiction. She sees anything like that in the same vein as Santa and the Easter Bunny. All that she watches are National Geographic videos and anything related to "how things work." This is also the child that prefers broccoli and cauliflower over pizza or cheeseburgers. She likes to wear thrift store clothing and enjoys riding her unicycle around the neighborhood. Yes, I am the father of the oddest child on earth. But, alas, I love her.
She also passed the high school exit exam last week. Not bad for a 4th grader. lol

A remarkable young lady! You must be very proud of her, I know I would be. Water seeks it's own level.

Thing to do is get a copy of the film, and you watch it while eating a pizza! And if she asks to join you, say, "Nah, it's only for kids!" :D

A girl after my own heart. Though I will substitute Pizza or Cheeseburgers for cauliflower any day . . . even with ranch dressing!

My daughter turns 6 tomorrow (time does fly!)

She's in a "fairies" mode of late, so this would certainly be a welcome addition to the library.

O.
You are incredibly lucky... My wife and I were looking forward to that age. She wanted to dress her in frilly dresses and tiaras. I, of course, dreamed of "daddy's little girl." But, no... Currently, she only has eyes for Don Herbert aka Mr. Wizard.

^^LOL, your daughters inclinations are somewhat reminiscent of the fictional Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory and his fascination with "Professor Proton" (AKA: Bob Newhart). Enjoy them while they are young and don't be so careless as to blink, for they grow up all too fast and you might miss critical parts of the experience! Trust me, you will never be able to turn back time and get a second chance to recover such moments. Perhaps that's why God blesses us with Grandchildren, allowing, we fools, a second chance at getting it right! ;)
