I see some missteps, but nothing I'd call disturbing. That's a bit strong, no?

I guess it was the word "disturbing" that threw me. Unless it is indecent or disrespectful in some way I don't generally think of what someone is wearing as being "disturbing". Silly, funny, out of place, etc., but not disturbing.

Oh, so that's what was going on.

That is as silly as the people who used to walk around with undone suspenders hanging below their waists.

Please, a clash of patterns can be disturbing, and wearing clothing in a way it was never intended can disturb people. It's not like anyone said the guy was (mentally) disturbed or anything.

So, who all clicked on this thread hoping to see porn and/or gore?

I still think it's being a little sensitive to be disturbed by something like that.

It disturbs me that you are disturbed by that.
Well it disturbs me that you are disturbed by him being disturbed because someone else is disturbed by a picture of a guy wearing a detachable collar without a tie. Apparently the only non-disturbed person in this whole scenario is the guy not wearing a tie. :icon_smile_big:

Seriously, I understand what he is saying. I am often amused at some of the terms used in the forum to describe someone's feelings or reaction to some perceived clothing faux paux. Guys will say that they are anything from "shocked", "stunned", or pehaps "disturbed" to fearful of the fall of Western civilization over someone wearing this tie with that shirt or not wearing a tie with a suit. Little things that 99 percent of the population wouldn't even think twice about become major causes of concern with some.

Not picking on the OP because his use of the word "disturbed" wasn't overly overdramatic but it did make at least a couple of us think about other posts that were. Just having some fun and not trying to instigate anything. :icon_smile_big:

It sounds like 'clubbing' suspends the rules of good taste. At one time people used to dress like a grown up when they went to a bar or restaurant. Now it seems like the staff dress better than the patrons.
Clubbing is recreation for the new generation, some people like it, some people hate it, but the old rules are irrelevant there. Wearing a tie or jacket with a jeans would look odd, and would be make someone feel pretty hot in a club on a summer night.

What's the difference between a guy in jeans and a t-shirt, and jeans and that shirt at a club? Not that much really, but at least that looks somewhat original.
