Not sure if my icon works! Never mind - has anyone noticed that the last two or three G&G models on the "New models" section of their website have disappeared? I am thinking of Eton in a country grain, Warwick and the Chukka boot whose name I cannot remember. I wonder if they have withdrawn these models for some reason? If is jjl5000 your Warwicks are as of now a rarity:icon_smile:

Perhaps it is just a computer glitch. I don't see why after doing all the costing the two Gs would discontinue these shoes so soon after their launch… they need these shoes, particularly the Warwick Balmoral (in the English sense) in their collection as well as the Arran (chukka boot). The price list also disappeared earlier this year (thank goodness - don't need Mrs Jamaican seeing that - I'd be sleeping in the cellar never mind on the sofa).

On a slightly different note, I am looking forward to seeing pics of the Canterbury Balmoral boot. I wonder if the changes to the proportions of the facing and the positioning of the ca on the toe have found their way into this model as well. If so, I believe this would be a Shannon-beater, with proportions similar to EG and better finishing (as noted by JJL50000 in his post about the Warwick (or was it the modified Hughes). In ay event I look forward to seeing pics of all of the models intrduced this year. J

As a comparison, here is the G&G Canterbury:

And here's the EG Shannon:

I see two major differences between these two boots. First, the Shannon has a pull strap that extends above the top of the boot, while the Canterbury has one that is integrated into the back strap and that ends at the top of the boot. Second, the Shannon has the swan's neck facing stitching outside of the eyelets where the Canterbury does not. To me, the G&G way of handling the pull strap is a definite improvement over the EG way, but the EG swan's neck facing is significantly more elegant. Were it I, I would opt for the Shannon because of that facing, despite the fact that I like the G&G make better than the EG make. Different strokes for different folks, though.

Well he confirmed that the order is accepted which says they are still making Warwicks.
If they've already produced the graded pattern, there's absolutely no reason for them not to make the shoe, unless they've discovered production or structural problems with it. It's just a regular old bal pattern, so either of those possibilities seems pretty remote. I vote for probably technical glitch with the website.

I understand that G&G can reproduce the swan's neck feature on their Canterbury boot. J
