London obviously is going to be more expensive so dont know local costings for you but this I think seems inline with what cost I would expect.. Especially if the tailor removed the sleeves at the shoulder to alter the length etc
Presume he may have also altered more than two of the seams to nip in the waist.
Even if not I wouldnt say it was out of line on costs but presuming you took it to a tailor rather than a dry cleaner that does alterations.....but I guess next time its better to check his prices before he starts work.

Press would have tailored it for free. I took a suit to them over a year after I originally bought it and they took in the sides without charge. This was in Cambridge though I'm sure it's the same at the other stores.

Well it really depends what part of the country you're in too...cost of living is different in different places...so it may or may not be high. But the fact, is he is charging you what he feels it is worth. If it's out of line for the quality of work and area, he'll be out of business soon enough. I try to ask what things will cost at my tailor before I commit, even though I have gone to him for years.

While $210 seems like a lot (I'm in NY and I think my bespoke guy would charge me around $150) but I don't know how much work was involved. My guy always itemizes for me...I'd ask him for a breakdown.

I am aware that Press has carried, as an exception, a "double vented" suit, but this question seems indicative of the inane questions that pop up more and more on this forum. Who would even assume that Press carried a "double vent"?
Did you say that you are aware that they've sold a DV, but wonder why someone would inquire if the suit was single or double vented?
