Dean Martin wore a very nice looking watch. He wore the same watch, or same type of watch, when dressed either formally or casually:

You can see him wearing his watch in this interview (see 0:47-0:51):

Does anyone wear a watch similar to the one Dean Martin wore?

Thanks,

Chris

My best guess is that the watch is a one off custom piece designed and produced by a jeweler. I like it, kind of a "functional bracelet" which matches Dean Martin's slick style.

This photo was for sale with this description:

"Vintage Photo 1955 Jerry Lewis Dean Martin You're Never Too Young Ray Gun"

So Dean Martin was wearing his signature bracelet-style watch in 1955 when he was still teaming with Jerry Lewis.

Here's another photo but I don't know what the year is:

Nothing brilliant in this thought, but if both Martin and Lewis had one - then, since they were a team for many years, they might have been gifts from a studio, advertiser, etc., to both team members or gift from one to the other in, "hey, I bought us both one of these to reflect our great friendship."

And in either case, they might have been custom - a watch face attached to a separate bracelet - to make the gift more special.

It looks good on him because it’s Dean Martin; Dino!

If it was Fred Schnerkel you’d think differently.

It’s a woman’s watch. I realize the trend for men’s watches tends towards the oversized and over gimmicked chronograph, but even by the standards of the 50’s and 60’s, it’s effeminate. It would look better as a bracelet.

I think it looks really good on him:

I came across this watch for sale. The width is 15mm:

To each his/her own, I suppose, but to my eye that watch just looks out of place on a man's wrist! Next thing we know someone is going to try to tell us "Real men wear tights!" Although, truth be known, back in the day even this manly your's truly wore 'Big-Mama panty hose during field operations, to hold the ticks at bay! :(
