I don't think I've come across any mention of this Tradish men's store on AAA. While the store will continue under the management of the new owner, a former employee, it's sad to know that David will not be there for his dedicated attention:

I shopped there a couple of times on trips to Portland. A really nice store and I agree about it being Tradish.
David Wood is one of the few free-standing men's shops still left here in Maine. Yeah it's nice, and it's Traddy and it's pricey and it thinks leaving the heating and cooling ducts exposed overhead makes it really authentic.

The website is not good for browsing. Although it may have traditional ductwork, I thought much of what offer was not traditional as I understand it.
It's a small shop, so I'm not surprised that they're not set up for a lot of Internet business. I described it as 'Tradish' knowing that it would not fit congruently with some AAA diehards' perceptions, but if I can help you understand further please don't hesitate.

I thought you locked yourself up in a geriatric ward somewhere down south. Good for you, get out more.

Let's not forget what the Old Port was like before the corporate hotels moved in. Think of NYC's SoHo and how dear the old warehouse lofts are desired today. I've seen many questions raised on AAA, but never one asking specifically 'what is a Trad ceiling ?'

George Bass in N.O. is one of the best stores anywhere. Unfortunately, it is quite expensive and the online store still hasn't come on. Personally, I wouldn't choose it over O'Connell's because O'Connell brings in clothing direct from UK/Scotland, Canada, etc. But try it if there or check the website.
