I just bought a couple of brown belts online and the leather is much lighter than I was expecting. I know some people say that the color of the shoes and belt don't have to match exactly as long as they are brown and brown, but in this case the difference would be too drastic. What can be done about this? Is there anything I can use that will darken the leather?

Several options.
1-Buy leather dye and restain belts. Not worth the time and mess. I make my own belts but for most people that's not reasonable.
2- You can use mink oil. Which isn't a good choice because it will come off on your clothes.
3- Leather polish. Also a poor choice because it will stain your clothes.

4- Buy new belts. Best choice. Go to a store where you can see exactly what shade of brown you desire to match your shoes.
