There area couple older threads about these. There is a $200 pair of size 36 NOSWT on etsy right now Cream Flannels Ad says they are white. Photos look cream.
They do look cream. Are you interested in buying them, moth damaged as they are? If you want them, you could ask the seller to clarify what color they really are. Perhaps they started out white and then yellowed with age, like the living room walls of a heavy smoker.

(If the trousers were my size and I had an overwhelming desire for vintage-style trousers, I’d buy them and then have a good tailor copy them. That would be easier than explaining to the tailor what I wanted and then hoping he’d be able to create the right pattern.)

They are out of my price point for thrift clothes. I hadn't noticed the damage but have just looked closer and see the moth holes. Yikes! That might be stain rather than shadow near a knee too. The whiz kids really should work on getting this internet thing to the point where we can smell these items too.

I agree with your decision. I too would not buy it at the price shown, moth holes and all, although the current price is $150. So they must have come down from $200.

I have a couple of pairs of cream flannels, but made much later than these, probably in the sixties or seventies. I do have some affection for cream flannels since they are traditionally used in cricket, a game I played long ago and still watch. Flannels the colour of Devon cream, and cricket sweaters, were worn when matches took place during colder weather. Cream flannels look lovely with a navy blue blazer. Also, cricket club colours (dark blue, maroon, green etc,) look much better against the cream background of the sweaters.

India are touring England right now and here are the highlights from Day 1 of the First Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Some of the Indian players are indeed wearing cricket sweaters. England won the toss, and elected to bowl, so the Indians are batting. They are both top teams in world cricket.

Periodically I see a article about how cricket is 'catching on' in the US. But if there are any matches in my neighborhood, I can't find any references. It's like rugby. I love rugby. I have even stopped a safari in mid-hunt because there was a Tri-Nations' Cup match being held. But rugby fans in the US have to get up at 3:00 a.m. to catch them on ESPN. 😩

If it helps you feel better, I believe rugby is catching on in the US. My community started a club organization this year for middle school to build a feeder for the fledgling high school team. My 11 yo son played (and loved it). There are more and more teams popping up here in the Midwest

We had rugby clubs in all the UC campuses back in the '60's. Football players were forbidden by their coaches from joining. Seems there was a fear that they might get hurt! 😈

Cricket can be seen 24/7 on a channel (from India) called Willow HD. They are on Youtube as well (the link I posted to the India-England test match highlights is actually from Willow HD), Cricket bats are made of willow wood, hence the name.

The US does have a cricket team and they play within the International Cricket Council's organized levels or leagues. At present they are at the 4th level, a beginner's league, playing against other nations that have just begun to play the game. But cricket had been played here in the nineteenth century, and the very first cricket match between two nations -- wait for this -- was between the USA and Canada!
