Like staying up way too late making adjustments to an inexpensive suit to look somewhat presentable, including cleaning up the back that will not be seen on the video chat. Bought this a really long time ago, because put on so much bulk couldn't fit any of the suits. Just basted for now, in case anything more I want to do, like fix the neck roll on the right shoulder, letting down the sleeves, or sleeve pitch and while doing that take a nip out of the back armscye.

Dropped the collar down the back 1cm, let out the upper back 0,5cm, and took in the waist a total of 4cm.

Before

After (too excided and too late to iron)

That is a lot of work for a Zoom meeting but turning out nicely, hopefully for post Zoom use. That is a cool stripe. Picking a tie?

Thank you for the compliment.

I bought this suit to wear has no sentimental value like Opa's suit, which if worn as the only suit wouldn't last, so this suit can be worn without worry. So yes, the work was not just for the video.

For your information, all this is through eHarmony so will try their platform, worse case, yes, move to Zoom. I am honestly glad I have started on this process, part of it was that depression and part fear, including the process. eHarmony seems to make it so much easier, can see how compatible one is with someone and offer great questions to answer (which some their personality explodes out of). Why I am glad is for some reason has made me more cheery and at ease, before even met someone. Weird.

By the way, this aforementioned lady seems to be a great match, got me wondering what the process is and doesn't seem enough time to research this as moving so quickly, so little information out there. Though, maybe there is no algorithm, no logic, just best guess based on something called feelings.

As for a tie, this wild suit has a cyan and lavender pin stripes besides the grey strips. Didn't realize when purchasing, makes it informal, right?

I only have about 100 silk ties and none have cyan as the dominate color. I have two basically solid (one is a jerqued and the other is tones) purple ties, however, don't think they work well. "

This tie the blue is an aqua, don't think that works.

Though this tie, which IIRC was one of the ones from @Peak and Pine, is the best?

Wow this day is going quickly!

Based on a careful review of the before and after photos, you are quite talented as an alterations tailor! Very nicely done, sir!. ;)
Thank you for the compliments.

This is the second time altering a coat, so if that easy, does that mean I am a cutter since I can draft coats, trousers, and shirts?

An acquaintance said he help plaster cast me, then again disappeared. I can fit my own trousers, just have to be more careful pinning, however was getting lackluster results fitting the shirt. It certainly is frustrating, however, his mental capacity isn't the same as "normal" people, now I know I can't have a relationship as too mentally exhausted and not enough time for one way relationships. I am waiting for COVID to be more over, my neighbor is still scared, then see if he be willing. Can't really plaster cast myself! LOL

It is useful, to a degree, to see the stripes up close. I never liked striped ties with striped suits. Given your coloring, I'd find a dark green paisley with a bit of blue in it (spoken from the vantage point of 1/10 your tie collection).

Well, my tie collection is severely lacking green. I do have a bright green paisley with no blue and this medium green tie with tiny warm blue dots.

I am probably the worst guy on this forum to offer suggestions about ties. My tastes are narrow and probably over fifty years out of date. However, above is a link to a tie along the lines of what I was envisioning. I have always loved very dark greens with a small pop of accenting color, light blue and red being among my favorites. It makes sense when I explain that my favorite color is fir trees in the fog with the fog beginning to burn off and show blue sky. Think of the Oregon coast in summer, a lovely thought but probably not very sound thinking for picking a tie! Actually, the suit looks quite versatile on the matter of ties. I am sure you will look superb.

Well, if you ask Peak and Pine, I love brown too much... I still see value, so searched through over 100 pages, spending too much time, and now late to bed, only finding these four which only slightly come close?

Yes, I think fairly versatile, don't think a bright red tie work for it or my complexation.

Nice finds. I like the bottom three. Also FWIW I picked the O'Connell's selection without regard to price because for my taste and no one else's it is perfection. I have a very small wardrobe, and I'd rather have three perfect madders than a dozen nice but not quite it choices. If you shop retail, Chipp ties are IMO some of the nicest out there and are reasonably priced.

Does like mean be a substitute for the O'Connell's tie?

To be clear, I knew using it for the picture and to me, it was generous providing a link.

I don't have any madder ties, not all that common it seems, so if did have an income, then paying retail makes sense and do agree better to have a small and fine selection than a plethora of mediocre madder ties. My Brother (if can call him such despite his behavior to the contrary) can't be trusted, says probate take a year, now saying over a year. If had money, be an okay decision, we shouldn't be as frugal as Dad who suffers because doesn't want to spend money and dies with over $30,000 in liquid assets, rather, now and then, within reason, purchase items which brings enjoyment.

As for Chipp, his aggressive business tactic of constantly messaging me almost demanding I buy his ties is off putting, especially when I ask him to either discount or stop messaging me in response to the first, then sends a couple more (think the moderator finally responded to my report). I never did receive an apology. Or am I wrong feeling uninspired to do business with him?

I feel no compunctions in ignoring offers from any vendors, including Chipp ties. That said, his selection is limited but stacks up well against much pricier competition.

I thought be hard to fill an hour, felt like an hour, but it was four. That's right, we video dated for four hours. I never have talked that long, didn't know was even possible. I don't even feel exhausted like have in the past talking a long time.

I of course asked her to go first, she was having difficulty, so reminded her she wanted to talk about her new employment. After that, it was back and forth. Went so well, we will meet next Saturday and probably continue doing so.

Somehow it came about she informing me her Mother checked my Facebook. Knowing from my experience here, knew my picture with a handlebar mustache be seen, so asked if her Mother had any opinion. The word she used was "impressive" so much Mother showed to Dad who was likewise "impressed". It seemed the apple did not fall far from the tree, so asked about my beard. She loves it and rather me keep it. So all that worry for nothing, turns out my friend is not the only one who loves men with beards.

What I am having trouble wrapping my head around is how is it someone shares so many commonalities? So far my Dad was the only one I knew who's favorite color is green, now find out it is her favorite color (to be clear it's my favorite also). Look how few merchandise is green, including clothing. We both landed on housing (she wants lots of children) and she rather have bespoke (I have helped build a Church and a couple remodels, from digging a foundation all the way through except roofing and windows). Agrees about giving priority to common area rooms, rather than huge bedrooms. She thought be nice for the future husband to be able to teach music, I have played six instruments in my life, still play three (cello is an expensive instrument). Goes on and on.

I somehow misplaced my blue shirt, decided to be different and just grab and go, thought this light blue-green tie the cyan strip with the green tie, I think it did. Thinking see if my light green suit still fits or can be made to fit.

Nice shirt and tie combo with that suit. Glad it went so swimmingly!
