While I share the enthusiasm for the traditional look of many in this forum, I have a particular weakness for a good cowboy boot, perhaps because I grew up on a ranch in cowboy country in central california. Ever since I saw Kill Bill vol. 2, I have been on a mission to discover where the cowboy boots in that movie came from. I have, so far, been unsuccessful. If anyone has the answer, please let me know.
However, I also would like to know if there are any other aficionados of the c'boy boot out there and where you like to shop. I can recommend Billy Martin's and J.W. Cooper. Martin's sells a good line of various high-end ready made boots, in many varieties in stitching and colors. Cooper is considerably more expensive as their specialty is in exotic leathers, particularly alligator. Many of their boots are upwards of $3K, but I believe they will do a certain amount of custom fittings. Their leather is beautiful and their workmanship is excellent.
I know there are fully custom, hand-made (and even hand-carved) boots out there, but I do not myself know where to find them.
