I just picked up a pair of very lightly used J&M beef roll pennies. I understand they're made of "corrected grain" leather and wonder whether I should use cream or wax polish.

I'm thinking more of protecting the shoe than getting a high gloss finish -- which leads me to the Meltonian. On the other hand, maybe nothing can penetrate the leather anyway, and I should just go with Kiwi....

What do you folks use on your Weejuns and such?

Thanks, gents.

My pennies are a dullish color -- which I'm not sure I mind. Perhaps there's a more lustrous, more burgundy color underneath, and perhaps I should chase after it with a bottle of rubbing alcohol, but my instinct is to "first do no harm".
