I ended up getting a couple of spots of color-loss on my dressing gown. Not sure how it happened, but I wear it lounging around the house on daily basis so anything is possible.


A couple of things, how easily should silk lose color like this? It’s weird only the turquoise lost color. It seems more sensitive. Is color-loss like this expected over the years? Gown is about two tears old.

Second, my understanding is the spot can’t be fixed. So what would you recommend? Do nothing? The spots aren’t visible if the sash is tired. They are noticeable if the gown is open. Or patch them in some way? Something else

Well, you might look for dye pencils which are made for exactly the task at hand. I don't know who sells drycleaning supplies online anymore. Cleaners Supply did at one time and may still...

Well, if that's really some kind of ink, they should work. Would need to reapply after washing, but the opportunity for a do-over might not be a bad thing if unhappy with the first try...
