I was wondering what this forum thought of the AE Lamberts in Chili grain? What sorts of pants do you think it would go well with? The color looks so much different from the more reddish chili color that I'm used to seeing from AE.

I liked the Lambert, but I don't own a pair. I'd wear it with gray or tan pants, maybe even jeans. I wear my chili McClains (wingtip) with a navy suit sometimes, but I'm not sure if I'd wear the Lambert with a suit.

As far as I know it's the same chili as all of AE's other shoes. Keep in mind, if you use AE's chili polish/cream, the color darkens a bit over time. (Unless I'm imagining things).

Matching clothes to AE Chili

I have a pair of AE Delrays in chili. I like to wear them with tan, brown & olive (green) trousers (suits are not required at my work). To me, chili seems a little bit too light to wear with my navy or charcoal grey trousers. I prefer to wear merlot, brown or black derbys for those color slacks.

I am waiting for my Lamberts in Chili to arrive. I was not planning on wearing them w/a suit, but w/dark denim and a nice shirt.
Besides the Lambert doesn't seem dressy enough for suit (IMO).

I have a pair of Lamberts in Chili. Had them all year and like them. They're very good and work with most everything, except darker suits/pants--IMHO.

They work well with all the browns, rust, greens, greys, etc. Can even wear with seersucker. Usually I am in tweed or colors, never black and I avoid my navy suit because it is boring to me. Lamberts in chili work with what I usually wear, though I tend not to wear them as much as my Loake Exeters, AE Westgate, Dryden and Byrons.

I have a pair of AE Sanfords in chili. I basically just wear them with tan and lighter gray trousers. If I owned olive trousers, I would wear them with them too. I don't care for pairing them with navy or other darker colors because of the extreme contrast. The shoes "jump" out too much.

Chili is my favorite Allen Edmonds color in calf.
I like the way darker colors make AE Chili burnished calf stand out.

+1. This is just one of many occasions, on which I find myself in agreement with Crownship...about shoes!

haha thanks for all the posts guys. I have a hard time dealing with seeing how high contrast can look good since I work in such a conservative industry (accounting) but I find I like the look.
