I have seen a few threads on these shoes, inlcuding the alden/AE thread where several questions came up and I thought a separate topic might be in order.

I am interested in the brown leather Chukka boot. Any thoughts on quality? Other makes I should look it? I am also thinking about the Alden brown suede Chukka for this Fall.

I have a number of traditional cap-toes and wingtips and think that a couple of pair of Chukka boots would offer a nice versitility I have been missing for moving from business casual to dressier environments.
