This was mixed in with a bunch of tie clips and cuff links belonging to my father and grandfather. I can’t tell if it’s a suit or tie accessory or something completely different.

He was in many bowling leagues here in New York actually!!

And that's why it's okay to get kitschy or symbolic things... whoodathunk that years (decades?) after the fact a grandson would be reminiscing about his forebears' bowling proficiencies? And all triggered by that metaphorical madeleine, the themed keychain.
