Can the lapel of a suit be tailored to cut in at more of an angle? Can a tailor to bring in the width?

Has anyone tried this? or know if it can be done?

I have a jos a bank sign suit and the shape of the lapel is normal at the top, but doesn't cut in at a point where it meets the button. The botton resembles more of how a shawl collar tux meets the button, but not that extreme.https://www.josbank.com/IWCatProduc...d=1&Section_Id=1119&pcount=&Product_Id=480615

This is what I want it to look like:

This is what it looks like, look at how it has a fatter width at the midway point, and does not have a smaller angle where it meets the button.

If you got that suit recently, send or take it back and tell JAB the problem you are having with it. I'm sure they will try to make it right. My guess is they will find you another that will be better. Why should you have to pay for a tailor to correct it?

On the other hand, if you can't take it back for some reason, you might just try pressing the lapel into a roll before taking it to a tailor. That might reduce the problem you seem to be having with it.

Since you don't say, I will ask: Did you try the coat on before you got it? What might have kept you from noticing this problem at that time?

It is the way the signature suit seperates jacket lapel seems to be constructed. It is not a matter of fit. The suit it self fits well.
The lapel of the suit is fat and not shaped well like the sign gold suit.
It can be noticed slightly in the picture. and when worn.

That is why I want the shape of the outside of the lapel to be made more sleek and reshaped on the outside.

Where the lapel is rolled is not a problem, although I wouldn't mind it rolled down just a little farther.

But again, it is the shape and width on the outside of the lapel.
