Camels live in desert climates, right? So why do we rarely see summer-weight camel hair clothing? Perhaps it's somewhat weak as a material and needs to be woven thickly for strength?

There's an old joke that a desert is a very cold place that is very hot during daylight...

During the day, desert temperatures rise to an average of 38°C (a little over 100°F).
At night, desert temperatures fall to an average of -3.9°C (about 25°F).
